IPL 2026 is just one match away from completion. This season has brought some controversies as well as many exciting moments on the field. Protecting the dignity of the league has become the main topic of discussion between the top officials of IPL and BCCI.
Some players are widely famous for their on-field activities as well as social media activities. With increasing security concerns, Indian Premier League The authority has issued a 7-page advisory for all franchisees.
I don’t think cricketers need to become content creators: IPL chairman
IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal, during an interview with RevSportz, explained why he had to issue such an advisory to players and franchises in the league. Dhumal clearly says that the focus of a cricketer should be on playing good cricket and not on creating content, because creating content is a different job.
Arun Dhumal says, “I don’t think cricketers need to become content creators. The job of a cricketer is to play good cricket. If they do that, enough and more good content will be created about them. So they do not need to become content creators and make reels, shorts or other posts. That is not needed and a line has to be drawn.”

Arshdeep Singh was in the headlines for his social media activities.
During the middle phase of the IPL 2026 campaign, punjab kings (PBKS) star Arshdeep Singh made headlines not because of his bowling but because of his Instagram videos and reels. The seamer used to shoot videos with his teammates during the league, which might have posed a danger.
Following the BCCI rules, Arshdeep Singh and IPL players, who were used to sharing content on social media platforms, have stopped doing so.
Dhumal said that the seven-page advisory, which he has issued, covers the basics. The Board aims to implement the guidelines properly.
“Most of the things we mentioned in the seven-page letter were already in place,” he said. “If you go and look, you will find that there is nothing fundamentally new that we have asked for. Rather, given that things are not being followed, we need to reinforce every point, and that was at the core of the letter. Every franchise and every player has now been reminded of what is expected of them, and that’s all.” Is.”
Why did BCCI issue a long advisory?
In the advisory, the BCCI mentioned that they found that certain incidents violated protocols, involving players, support staff and team officials during the IPL 2026 season. It is alleged that these incidents have affected the reputation of the franchise league and the professionalism of the board.
“It has come to the attention of the BCCI that there have been some incidents of misconduct and protocol violations involving players, support staff and team officials during the current IPL season,” ESPN said, sharing part of the advisory issued by the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
“If these incidents are left unchecked, they have the potential to cause significant damage to the reputation of the tournament, the respective franchises and BCCI as a governing body. This may expose individuals and franchises to legal liability and security risks of a serious nature,” it said.
