Star India National Cricket Team Left Pacer Arshdeep Singh has been selected by Iffi Pathan for the Asia Cup 2025 final against Pakistan National Cricket Team.
India and Pakistan will go head-on with each other in the final of the Asia Cup for the first time in the history of the tournament on 28 September, and the match will be hosted by Dubai International Stadium.
First things first, he is like an ice – Irfan Pathan on Arshdeep Singh
During a discussion on the Sony Sports Network, Irfan Pathan composed the enriched praise on Arshdeep Singh in a calm and pressure situations.
He said that Arshdeep Singh should be one to play at XI in the Asia Cup final as India will need two pacers that can bowl Yorker from both ends. He said:
“First things first, he is like an ice. When there is pressure, he asks for the ball and bowl. In the end, he is ready to bowl his Yorker. He bowls Yorker with Jaspreet Bumrah. [when both play together]He is a quality bowler. For me, this is not new. I have been saying from day one that it should be in XI who plays.
“There are circumstances when you need a yorker from both ends. Today, the match has gone up to the very end. But, the Indian team thinks that we need a long batting line-up. Therefore, Shivam Dubey is playing as an all-rounder. Since he is playing, Arshdeep is not getting a place. He will always be in my player.”
Arshdeep Singh inspires India to win against Sri Lanka
The 26 -year -old fast bowler of Punjab has got an opportunity to play two matches in the Asia Cup 2025 despite taking the leading wicket for Team India in T20I cricket only.
In the ongoing edition of the continental tournament, he has been forced to heat the bench due to a one-expert pacery strategy employed by Gautam Gambhir-Leading Team Management.
Jasprit Bumrah is playing as the main pace of India, with Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dubey supporting him with their seam-bolting.
Arshdeep first depicted India against Oman when Bumrah was rested, and returned with 1/37 figures. Then, he played an inconsistent match against Sri Lanka when India again decided to rest Bumrah.
Arshdeep Singh did not see a good rhythm in the powerplay and was taken to the cleaner while defending the score, but he displayed a good performance on the death, eventually finishing with 1/46 figures.
However, he saved the best for the previous and banned Sri Lanka for a score of 2, while taking 2 wickets in the super over, the Asia Cup in India to play a big role to maintain his winning streak in 2025.

Speaking on Espncricinfo, former India’s Pacer Varun Aaron appreciated the heroes of Arshdeep Singh in the over of death. He said that Pesar clung to his plans and executed him for perfection in the super over.
“I think Arshdeep did what he does the best, really bowled well on death. We have seen time and time again, no matter what he does in his first two or three overs, he has a composition to really lead to death, and that is what he did.
“Even in the super over, it was clinging to his plans, he clung to the wide lines, which is not easy for a left -handed pace, and he did it with full perfection,” Aaron said.
