Left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh shared a light-hearted comment on ace fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah after the first T20I of the five-match series between India and South Africa. Arshdeep joked that the senior fast bowler will need to “earn” his place to feature in his Instagram Reels, just like Virat Kohli did recently.
The Punjab-born cricketer regularly shares light-hearted videos of his Indian teammates on social media. Their clip shows a playful side of the Indian dressing room. After the third ODI against South Africa, Virat Kohli joined the conversation and joked on Arshdeep and the clip quickly went viral.

Jasprit Bumrah joined Arshdeep Singh in the 100-wicket club by removing Dewald Brevis during the first T20I at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Tuesday, December 9. After the match, Arshdeep was asked how Bumrah could feature in his popular Instagram Reels.
The left-arm pacer joked that Bumrah still needed to take a few more wickets before he could make a cameo in one of his videos. Arshdeep said that if “Jassi Bhai” continues to deliver success, he can also make it on his social media reels.
“Jassi Bhai still needs to take a few more wickets to get on my Instagram. So, if he keeps working on that and keeps taking wickets, he can also get on my Instagram,” Arshdeep said.
My relationship with Jasprit Bumrah is very good – Arshdeep Singh
Arshdeep Singh described his relationship with Jasprit Bumrah as very good. He said that Bumrah deals with young players with patience rather than pressure, which creates a comfortable atmosphere in the dressing room. Arshdeep said that his Punjabi background has helped him connect more naturally.
Arshdeep said, “The relations with him are very good. I would say he is a gentle senior. He is never too harsh on any youngster who comes and he is very polite with them. So I would say the relations are very good, and we are also Punjabis, so it is really easy to get along with them.”

Arshdeep said that he gets a big advantage by bowling with Jasprit Bumrah. Together they have taken 47 wickets in 14 matches. Arshdeep said that batsmen often avoid taking risks against Bumrah and this helps him in creating wicket-taking chances.
Arshdeep said, “It is great to bowl with him, because players mostly want to attack my bowling, and I am always in the game to take some wickets, because even on good balls, they try to score runs on me because they know that on the other side, Bumrah will not give away runs easily. So, it is beneficial for me as well and I like it.”
India defeated South Africa by 101 runs in the opening match. Bumrah and Arshdeep took two wickets each, giving India a 1-0 lead. The teams will meet again for the second T20 match at the Mullanpur Stadium in Chandigarh on Thursday, December 11.
