India’s young fast bowler Arshdeep Singh has come into limelight on social media for ruthlessly trolling his teammate Ravi Bishnoi after the IPL 2026 auction in Abu Dhabi on December 16.
Arshdeep Singh’s comment on Ravi Bishnoi went viral and drew mixed reactions from fans, with many calling out the Punjab bowler for crossing the line. This comes after the Indian leg spinner bagged a huge deal in the IPL 2026 auction on Tuesday.

Bishnoi was bought by Rajasthan Royals for ₹7.20 crore after a long and tense bidding war in the auction. The former Rajasthan player, who moved to Gujarat after issues with the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA), had entered the IPL 2026 auction with a base price of ₹2 crore after being released by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

And Rajasthan Royals (RR) showed interest by opening the bid immediately. Five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) soon joined the race. He took his time before steadily increasing the bid in small steps. With a lot of money left in their purse, CSK comfortably raised the price on the auction table to ₹4.2 crore.
At that time, the Royals retreated for a while, but it had not happened yet. He returned ₹4.4 crore, keeping the competition alive. CSK responded immediately and increased the bid again to ₹5.8 crore. After this the Royals re-entered for ₹6 crore. At this point, CSK backed off and it seemed like the deal was done.
But just when everyone thought the bidding was over, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) made a bid of ₹6.2 crore, reviving the competition. Now with SRH in the mix, the price increased further. In the end, when no other bids came in, Rajasthan Royals stood firm and sealed the deal at ₹7.2 crore.
Bishnoi took a big deal with RR in the auction. Soon after, a clip of Arshdeep Singh’s reaction to Bishnoi’s big pay day started going viral on social media. Arshdeep’s comment on Snapchat, asking Bishnoi not to waste water anymore, immediately gained attention.

Some fans saw it as friendly flirting between teammates, while others felt the words were inappropriate. The internet was divided, with many feeling that the fast bowler had crossed the line.

Ravi Bishnoi’s career in statistics
Meanwhile, Bishnoi was released by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) after a disappointing performance in the IPL 2025 season, where he could take only nine wickets in 11 matches under the captaincy of Rishabh Pant. The 25-year-old spinner has so far represented only two IPL teams, Punjab Kings and LSG.
In 77 IPL matches, the leg spinner has taken 72 wickets at an economy rate of 8.21. He is LSG’s highest wicket-taker in IPL history with 48 wickets at an economy of 8.80. Bishnoi has also taken 61 wickets in 42 T20I matches for India at an impressive average of 19.37.
The statistics are even more impressive when we look at his overall T20 career. He has taken 194 wickets in 166 matches at an economy rate of just 7.54 and has the feat of taking four wickets thrice.
