Umpire’s call

Joe Root made a great knock in the first innings of the third Test match of Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at Lord’s in London. He scored 104 off 199 balls, with 10 fours, in which England’s post 387 runs helped on the board.

During the second innings, the root was seen in concrete touch in the middle. Mohammad Siraj was batting quite well before bowling in the 38th over and harassing him.

On the third ball of the over, Siraj did a delivery that rapidly went to the right -handed batsman, and Joe Root reshuffled his shot, but the ball defeated the inner edge and hit him on the pad in front of the middle stump.

It was seen towards the naked eye, but the umpire, Paul Refel did not raise his finger, and India went for a review. Ball-tracking showed that the ball would brush the leg-stump, and due to the umpire’s call, the root survived.

Mohammad Siraj was absolutely fierce after watching the replay on the huge screen and staring at the on-field umpire.

It seems that Paul Refel has decided that it is not going to be out – Anil Kumble

Speaking on-air, Jonathan Trot said that he felt that the ball would easily crash at the stump. He said:

“You felt that it was crashing inside the stump. When you saw that normal speed, it was hardly remembering a leg stump. England lived again. India Animated,” he quoted the Hindustan Times as saying.

Meanwhile, Anil Kumble excavated a barbaric for his terrible umpiring on Paul Refel, and he said:

“It seems that Paul Refel has decided that it is not going to be out. Nothing closer, not out.”

You are saying that it was going to kiss the leg stump? There is no way – Sunil Gavaskar

Legendary India batsman Sunil Gavaskar was quite bold in his assessment of dismissal and questioned DRS technology.

“You are saying that it was going to kiss the leg stump? There is no way. It was closing the leg stump. The only good thing is that India has not lost the review,” Gavaskar said, as is quoted by India today.

In addition, Jonathan Trot said that he was quite angry seeing the ball kissing the leg-stump.

Former England batsman Jonathan Trot said, “I am enraged. After seeing that replay, I felt that it was crashing in the inside of the leg stump. Looking at it in real time, I could not believe it was missing.”
