After his IPL 2026 campaign was cut short due to a heartbreaking injury, a big update has come about Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) young batsman Angkrish Raghuvanshi. The 21-year-old player has taken a big step towards his comeback as he joined the Mumbai camp.
The talented batsman has already undergone surgery and has started his rehabilitation as he aims to regain full fitness before the start of the upcoming domestic season after missing IPL 2026. Amid positive updates, Shah Rukh Khan reacted as KKR becomes the first cricket franchise to own a stadium.

How a freak collision ended Angkrish Raghuvanshi’s dream of IPL 2026 season
Angkrish Raghuvanshi suffered neck and finger injuries during Kolkata Knight Riders’ IPL 2026 match against Mumbai Indians on May 20. While attempting to take a high catch to dismiss Tilak Verma, Raghuvanshi accidentally collided with teammate Varun Chakravarthy.
The collision was so severe that the young batsman had to leave the field immediately after experiencing neck pain, dizziness and headache. Medical scans later confirmed that the finger on his left hand had also been fractured. Due to these injuries his IPL 2026 campaign ended midway through the season.
This was a big blow for both Raghuvanshi and Kolkata Knight Riders as the youngster was in great form. He was KKR’s leading run-scorer in IPL 2026 with 422 runs in 13 matches at an impressive average of 42.20 and an impressive strike rate of 146.52. He also handled wicketkeeping duties for KKR during the tournament, making him one of their key players.

It is being said that the doctors have advised the KKR batsman to focus only on fitness and conditioning work before gradually returning to full cricket activities. However, the Mumbai youngster is not allowed to bat or field during the first 15 days of July.
