As India and Pakistan are ready for another epic fighting in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025, ICC match referee Andy Pycroft made explosive revelations about the no-handshake controversy, which surprised everyone and highlighted the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) chief Mohsin Nakvi.
Mohsin Naqvi is also the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The No-Handshek drama, which came out during the Asia Cup A Clash in the Asia Cup 2025, has taken a new twist from the India-Pakistan struggle in Dubai on 21 September.

As reported by Espncricinfo, the match referee Andy Picroft was informed that Indian captain, Suryakumar Yadav, and Pakistani captain, Salman Ali Aga, would not shake hands a few minutes before the toss of India-Pakistan struggle in Dubai on 14 September.

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) site manager informed Andy Picroft “four minutes before the toss” that there would be no handshake exchange. The manager told Picroft that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had decided that the Indian captain, Suryakumar Yadav, would not shake hands with Pakistan captain Salman Ali Aga in the toss.
And the blue men continued their no-handshake stance even after the match. It is being said that the BCCI had received approval from the Government of India about the same, and he had already informed the ACC about his stance, which means that Mohsin Naqvi knew about this.

However, the Pakistan camp was caught by the guard and argued that the ACC and the International Cricket Council (ICC) should have already informed them well.
But the match referee, Pycroft, revealed that he had personally informed Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha about India’s No-Handshek stance before the toss to avoid public embarrassment.
The incident expressed displeasure at Pakistan’s camp. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials accused Picroft of violating the ICC code of conduct and failing to maintain the spirit of cricket. He even demanded the removal of it from the rest of the tournament, but the ICC rejected the request.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board has created another controversy by posting a video on social media, which shows a meeting between the match referee Andy Pikeroft and the senior management of Pakistan, including Captain Aga, Coach Mike Hessen and Team Manager Neveda Cheem.
The video immediately raised the eyebrows as recording and sharing it clearly breaks the ICC rules. According to the PMOA guidelines of the ICC, no mobile phone is allowed inside the field of match officials.
Sanjog Gupta, CEO of ICC, has already written to the PCB about the violation of the code of conduct. Now, it remains to be seen whether PCB will face fines or other restrictions for this violation by ICC.
