Andy Pycroft for writing Pakistan’s death sentence; ICC appoints Ind vs. Pak match referee for Super 4

Cricket reporter Kushan government shared that Andy Pycroft has been appointed as a match referee for the upcoming Super 4 conflict between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025; However, the official confirmation for the match between the archival is still pending.

“Tomorrow’s match for India Referee vs Pakistan Super 4S Games: Andy Pikeroft,” The government wrote on X (earlier known as Twitter).

In the Asia Cup 2025, the India-Pakistan group stage match created a big controversy when Suryakumar Yadav did not shook hands with Pakistan captain Salman Ali Aga before the game. Suryakumar and his colleagues also joined hands with Pakistan players after the match.

The Pakistan Cricket Board filed a formal complaint with the ICC, alleging that the match referee Andy Pycroft had disturbed the spirit of the game. In particular, the PCB demanded its removal from the tournament and requested that it would not reduce Pakistan’s future matches.

However, the ICC dismissed the claims of PCB, stating that Pycroft worked within the tournament guidelines. The referee gave only a message to the ACC site manager, and according to the cricket body, there was no violation of the protocol.

Pakistan also threatened to boycott the tournament. However, he decided to play against UAE in his final group stage match, arriving at the stadium an hour late due to a meeting between PCB president Mohsin Naqvi, Najam Sethi and Rameez Raja.
