All -rounder Andre Russell, a two -time champion of the T20 World Cup, has made a final call to his presence in international cricket. He announced his retirement a few days ago, which was determined after the end of the first two T20Is against Australia.

Russell said an emotional goodbye to international cricket at his home ground in Jamaica, as West Indies lost the second T20 International, going down 2–0 in the second T20I of the series.

“I just want to say thanks, thank you for the people in Sabina Park and WICB for the occasion. Just happy to play in front of the house crowd; the result did not go in our way, but I am just happy to play so many matches and wish the team the best to move forward,” said in an interview for the match after the match.

Andre Russell indicated his replacement at Romario Shepherd

Andre Russell was not going in his career as in any way or by any kind of bad patches; Therefore, this was the right time for him to hang his shoes, as he also named some more West Indies players who are currently doing very well.

Shepherd has played 57 T20I for the nation, taking 60 wickets with a ball at an average of 27.98. Although his economy does not seem to be on a good side, he batted for 591 runs, with a average of 140.71 strike rate with around 25.
