I would say that he was very lucky to return to the Indian team – Amit Mishra on Karun Nair

Senior batter Karun Nair’s time with the Indian team ended after eight years after just one series of his return. Following a poor performance in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, Ajit Agrakar-led selection committee decided to ax the batsman for the home Test series. Talking about this in a conversation with IANS, Amit Mishra said that the batsman was also lucky to return.

Mishra said of Nair’s exclusion, “He was given an opportunity. I would say that he was very lucky to return to the Indian team at the age of 33. It was an opportunity for him to perform well. He played so many matches, but did not perform well.”

“It happens that after a while, you have to see the youth who are performing well. You have to give them a chance, and Sai Reforms is one of the players who will now get more opportunities, as they are, the way he is bats, he takes time to play well and play. To have long -term property.”
