Pathan has told how Shubman often guides Abhishek on single and shot selection, but the young left -handed batsman continues with his aggressive hit. In the match against Bangladesh, it was advisable to safely play the last ball of one over after 15 runs despite Gill’s advice, Abhishek broke the sixes supporting his fearless approach.
The former World Cup winner further said, “It is a different matter that they do not hear because it was done yesterday (Wednesday). Shubman told Abhishek that he had come in 15 runs and asked him to play the last ball carefully. He said yes, but hit the last ball for a six. So, they try to explain things to each other, but this combination is amazing.”
In particular, Abhishek is currently the leading run scorer at the Asia Cup 2025 in the ongoing Asia Cup 206.67 with five matches in the Asia Cup 2025. On the other hand, Gill has scored 111 runs in the tournament so far.
