Hanuma Vihari hopes for “all-format partnership” in Tripura’s Kadam

Ahead of the upcoming domestic season in India, which will begin with the Dalip Trophy before the Asia Cup 2025 starts, Hanuma Vihari has decided to move from Andhra to Tripura.

This decision has been made by the Indian player, as they feel that young players are eyeing the Andhra Pradesh team T20 format; However, he is ready to act in all three formats of the game.

“I was eager to other occasions because I believe I am quite good to play all three formats,” Vihari said as quoted by ESPNCricinfo.

He said, “Andhra clarified that he was looking at the youth for the T20 format. That is why I decided that it did not understand to play the 50 -over format also, so I also sat out of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. I also wanted to play in a new environment,” he said.

“I am a captain or not, whatever I expect from the team, I will contribute it”

Even before the 2024–25 season, Vihari was about to take a step for the Madhya Pradesh team, but the TDP was spoken to by the Andhra ruling party general secretary Nara Lokesh.

“For the last two sessions, I was talking about going out [he’d been in talks with Madhya Pradesh]But I was back, “Vihari said about the last season.

“I realized the circumstances around me, and also where I have my own cricket, it was the best time to signed with an upcoming team. This year he approached me before, and I felt that it would be a challenge that would be worth taking.”

He further emphasized the fact that he is likely to be a prominent member in the Tripura squad and “as a senior player, I would contribute to it, whether I am a captain or not, from a leadership point of view, whatever the team expects from a lead point of view.

Hanuma Vihari is not monitoring the Asia Cup 2025 after any return

Just before the Asia Cup 2025, such a step from Hanuma can be seen that he is looking for an opportunity to go back to the Indian team; However, he has made it clear that he has no such intention so far.

Karun Nair made his comeback in the Test series before the Asia Cup 2025, but auditioned for years through his domestic performance.

“My challenge is to take through the team. After the first class cricket of 14-15 years, I have definitely got the experience I want to pass. But I am not thinking about the return yet. It is far away. I am far away. I want to run, important runs and then take the team.
