Multan Sultans owner Ali Tareen has been having a long standing feud with the PSL management. He has now accused the PCB of luring him with the PSL contract if it can assure him of not making any more controversial statements about him.

Mr. Ali Tareen has been one of the biggest personalities of Pakistan cricket in recent times; However, his reputation would never have given him license to backstab the PCB with nasty comments. Tareen, however, criticized PCB’s management of the PSL.

Following allegations of mismanagement against him, the PSL committee refused to renew his contract and put the franchise up for sale. Tareen lost his place in Pakistan cricket after this.

Ali Tareen’s latest allegation on Mohsin Naqvi’s PCB

Amid the never-ending feud between former Multan Sultans owner Ali Tareen and the PCB, a new allegation has come to light. Tareen has made new allegations against Pakistan Cricket Board and PSL Management Committee.

Via another X post, the former owner claimed, “The PCB told me that if I wanted to renew my MS contract I would have to give a legal undertaking that I would never criticize the PSL management again.

“I will also delete all my tweets in which I called him incompetent and mediocre,” he said.

Re-branded Multan Sultans owner welcomes Ali Tareen for PSL games

Multan Sultans were no longer a part of the PSL and instead, two new teams came into existence. One of the teams was the Sialkot Stallions, which was purchased by CD Ventures for the second time.

The team’s new owner Gauhar Shah changed the name of the team and changed the name to Multan Sultans. He said he would carry forward the legacy that was started by former owner Ali Tareen. He also claimed that Tareen, who is a friend, is welcome to watch the team’s games.

Multan Sultans surprised everyone with their strange choice for captaincy

There were not just one or two players in the Multan Sultans team who could fulfill the responsibility of captaincy. They bought Australian legend Steven Smith for a huge price of PKR 14 crores.

Despite Smith’s experience, he was not made captain. On the other hand, Pakistan’s Test captain Shan Masood, in-form T20I batsman Sahibzada Farhan and all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz were overlooked for the captaincy.

Much to their surprise, everyone announced Perth Scorchers captain Ashton Turner as their new captain. Tim Paine has been appointed the head coach of the team for the upcoming season.

Former Multan Sultans won the PSL once in 2021 and finished as runners-up three times between 2022 and 2024.
