It is not a small achievement to select only four players to represent cricketing greatness. Every era of the game has been done by legends-Quatters, bowlers and all-rounders-they left a permanent impact on the game. Former England captain Alastair Cook Recently took this difficult task, with his personal name ‘Cricket Mount Rashmore’ In a video shared by Stick to Cricket. Cook’s list, however, raised the eyebrows as it did not have a single Indian cricketer.
Alastair Cook named his Mount Rushmore of cricket
Cook only based on the players with whom he played or against him, making it a more individual list rather than statistical or heritage-based. For batsman’s place, he chose West Indies Legend Brian LaraAhead of Australia Ricky Ponting,
“This is so difficult between Lara and Ponting … but I have to go to Brian Lara. I have never seen it genius,” Cook said.
When it came into bowling, Cook named his former team partner and close friend James Anderson,
“Best bowler … I am going to be one of my better friends James Anderson. I think longevity is one thing, but the skill he had and as long as he could be my bowler, was the ability to play,” Cook added.
For all-rounder, Cook is initially considered Ben stokes For his sports capacity but eventually South African Legends chose Jacques Kallis,
“It’s really quite easy .. I think Stockcie (Ben Stokes) is to change the game but to be the same in the case of Jacques Kalis. The runs he scored was simply incredible and you are again on top with the fact that he has got more than 200 Test wickets and is caught like flies in slippers. Cook explained.
Cook has still accepted Stokes by including him as a “spare player”, who admire the British heroes in pressure conditions and large matches.
“Spare player, then I am going to do Ben Stokes. A game changer and pressure to win big games played some great innings,” Cook added further.

Cook, a legend in itself with more than 12,000 Test runs and a decorated England career made it clear that their selections were based on personal experiences. During the subjective, their list reflects praise for those whom they saw closely during their sports days.
