We want him to be available all the time- Ajit Agkar
Talking to reporters, Ajit Agkar said that he has been additional careful with Bumrah and Physio is always in contact with him.
“I don’t think there is a written plan at the moment. Obviously, there is a good break after the England series. Team management or physics or related people are always in touch. It is not yet, and even before their injury, we tried to take care of them because we know how valuable he is,” meets India’s squad during the press.
Ajit Agkar further said that he wants Paes Spearhead Jasprit Bumrah to be preserved for big games. He said:
“Clearly, we want to make it available for all big games. I know in international cricket, every game is a big game. But World Cup, Champion Trophy or big series like England or Australia. We want to provide it all the time.”
It will not change whether it is a series or in the next six months – Ajit Agkar
The BCCI chief selector also made it clear that the management strategy associated with Jasprit Bumrah would not change as he is a special player.
“Most fast bowlers are monitored, and yes, because they have taken an injury in the last 2-3 years. How unique it is and how special it is and it will not change, it will not change. It will not change whether it is in this series or next six months,” Agkar said.
Finally, Agkar stated that Bumrah would be monitored by physio and trainers, and their participation in the upcoming matches would depend on what his body’s position is and when the team needs it in dire need.
“As we go together, how he feels, when we need him as a team, which is probably the most important thing, and with physio and trainers, those things are monitored. We hope that he is not available more often,” he said.
