Ajit Agkar openly slammed Karun Nair; It tells how easily Devdat Padikal changed it

BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar explained the reason behind the boycott of Karun Nair from India’s squad for the upcoming two -match testing series against the West Indies at home. The former bowler also said that the young left -handed batsman Devdutt gives the team a higher price than the Padikkal Karun Nair.

Karun managed to score 205 runs in four out of five of the 25.62 tests during the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. Karnataka batsmen returned to India’s team after a gap of more than 3000 days, but failed to start in a big score. He batted in various positions in batting order in England.

Devdutt Digical Karun Nair – Ajit provides a little more than Agarkar

On Thursday, September 25, the selectors announced the 15-member Indian team for the test series against the West Indies. Karun Nair was released after failing to impress on England tour, while Devdutt Padikkal was called back to the team.

Ajit Aggarkar admitted that the selectors had expected more from Nair during their return series. He further stated that Padical currently provides more value to the team.

“Clearly, we had a little more hope.

Devdutt Padikal has shown some civilized forms – Ajit Agkar

Ajit Aggarkar said that he chose Devdutt Padikkal on the basis of his recent form. He reported that Padikal was already part of the Test Squad in Australia and was later impressed by a half -century in Dharamshala against England.

“Unfortunately, it does not work in that way. Parkal Tests are in the squad. I mean, he was in the Test squad in Australia, played against England in Dharamshala, found 50 there. So he was shown some decent looks with India.”

Padikal pushed his return to the squad with 150 against Australia A in the first informal test. He made his Test debut against England in the fifth match in 2024, where he scored 65 off 103 balls. The left -handed batsman played his next Test match in Perth but registered a score of 0 and 27 against Australia.

Karun Nair’s test fails to impress the comeback selectors

Karun Nair returned to the Indian Test team after an impressive performance in domestic cricket. He had a record-breaking Ranji Trophy campaign and later broke a dual century for India before the England series.

However, his performance in England decreased with expectations. He scored only 131 runs in six innings at an average of 21.83. India dropped him for the Manchester Test, brought to Sai Sudarshan. Nair earned another lifeline in the oval.

Nair showed some battle with half a century in the final test in that final test, but it was not enough to strengthen its position in the team. He has played only 10 Tests and scored an average of 41.36 runs, including a century and a fifty. He was the second Indian to score a triple century in the Test.
