Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chief selector Ajit Agarkar has released an official statement on the injury status of India’s national cricket team great batsman Virat Kohli.
Ajit Agarkar said Virat Kohli “may be fit” for India’s ODI series against the England national cricket team, but there is no clear timeline for his recovery at the moment.

Virat Kohli has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI series against Afghanistan due to a hamstring injury sustained during the IPL 2026 final.
Yashasvi Jaiswal has been named in his place in India’s ODI squad for the Afghanistan series, and BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar has revealed that he is looking forward to seeing the batsman in action in the England ODIs.
“With Virat at the moment, it’s been less than a week since he injured himself [IPL] Final. We don’t know the timeline yet, but it looks like he could be fit for the England ODI series. This is not a definitive answer, so don’t hold me to it. “I haven’t got any clear timeline from the physio yet,” Agarkar said.
