After his brilliant performance in the opening match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the discussion about fast-tracking him has intensified among the veteran Indian cricketers.
During a recent discussion on ESPNcricinfo, Chawla favored an early international debut for the 15-year-old batsman.
He said, “That’s the beauty of the IPL. At the age of 15, he is facing world-class bowlers. When he goes to the international level, he will not be a stranger. It is not that he has not faced bowlers with speeds of more than 140 kmph. He has already thrashed them. If he plays like this, I would love to see him playing at a faster pace. For some time now, under 19, domestic, India A “Whoever has played has scored some big centuries, that’s for sure.” Good.”

Former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu also believes that Vaibhav Suryavanshi has the potential to play for India at a very young age and fast-tracking him now can help him move forward in his career. However, he also said that it is not going to be easy, as there are some other young players like him in the queue. Considering the bright future of India, it is going to be very difficult for the Board of Control for Cricket in India and the team management to select one of these.
“I think definitely in the T20 format, if he has a very good IPL and if he shows that he can keep himself extremely calm under pressure. But, our Indian team is a world champion team, so it is not easy to replace someone. There are a few players ahead of him at the moment. You pick and build your team for the next ICC competitions.”
In yesterday’s low-scoring game between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 52 runs in just 17 balls at a strike rate of over 300 with the help of five sixes and four fours.
