RCB batsman Tim David can single-handedly snatch any match; Despite this, Aiden Markram made a huge mistake and took an easy rebound catch from LSG teammate Abdul Samad, who had done the hard work.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru were anyway heading towards a dominant win over Lucknow Super Giants and were in a commanding position when they thrashed the LSG bowlers while chasing a low score.

The strong position was set by the RCB bowlers, who returned with some astonishing figures. Three experienced bowlers, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Krunal Pandya and Josh Hazlewood took a total of 6 wickets, while Rasikh Salam decimated the LSG batsmen by taking 4 wickets.

Aiden Markram’s mistake gave life to Tim David

With Tim David and Romario Shepherd at the crease, RCB needed just 25 runs in 7 overs. Jitesh Sharma and captain Rajat Patidar were out in the same over of Prince Yadav, but it was too late for the LSG team to make a comeback.

Tim David hit Digvesh Rathi for a six on the fourth ball of his final over and the bowler, who was already having an uneconomical performance in the game, returned with the ball going slightly off the surface. The ball was skidded by Tim David and caught sharply by Abdul Samad at the mid-wicket boundary.

After doing all the hard work, Samad caught it near the fence and was unable to resist his momentum as he kept the ball in play by passing it to Markram, who had come in as his backup. However, Markram looked unconcerned as he missed the easiest of rebounds. Rathi did not get his first wicket of the night and Tim David continued his attack by hitting a four on the next ball.

From Virat Kohli to Jitesh Sharma, RCB batsmen gave their team a huge boost in run-rate

None of the batsmen of Royal Challengers Bangalore were looking in any kind of form, which could save the LSG bowlers. After the dismissal of Phil Salt, Virat Kohli led the attack and scored 40 runs at a strike rate of 200 in the powerplay, before being dismissed by Avesh Khan.

However, the attack escalated with Jitesh Sharma and Rajat Patidar; Two new batsmen took charge at the crease against batsmen like Digvesh Rathi and Mohammed Shami. After quick scoring overs, Tim David and Romario Shepherd gave the finishing touches to RCB.

They chased down the score of 148 runs within the 16th over of the game, as the match ended with 29 balls remaining in the innings. Royal Challengers won this match, which helped them increase their run-rate.
