Ahmed Shehzad slaps Mohammad Amir again with IND vs ENG semi-final prediction

Former Pakistan players Ahmed Shehzad and Mohammad Aamir clashed on national television while predicting the winner of the India vs England T20 World Cup semi-final. Team India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, will face Harry Brook’s England at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday, March 5.

The winner of this match will take on New Zealand in the grand final in Ahmedabad on Sunday, March 8. The Black Caps became the first team to reach the final after defeating South Africa by nine wickets at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Wednesday. They achieved the target of 170 runs in just 12.5 overs.

Ahmed Shehzad and Mohammad Amir clash over IND vs ENG T20 World Cup semi-final predictions

During a televised discussion about the upcoming T20 World Cup semi-final, the panel was asked to predict the winner between India and England. Mohammad Amir and Rashid Latif backed England to win the competition.

However, Ahmed Shehzad took a different approach and confidently predicted India’s victory. When the host jokingly commented that Ahmed Shehzad was looking “more Indian” for supporting the Men in Blue, the former Pakistan opener quickly responded.

Ahmed Shehzad said on the show, “It’s about cricket, it’s about sports and I think their team is better. But when it comes to our country, our life is always ready for our country.”

India are relying on just one or two players – Mohammad Aamir comes out against Ahmed Shehzad

Mohammad Amir predicted that the Harry Brook-led side will win the upcoming semi-final against the Suryakumar Yadav-led side. The former Pakistan fast bowler said that India’s batting unit is not performing consistently and seems to be dependent on only a few players.

Aamir said that if a team depends on just one or two individuals in a big match, it cannot dominate it. He said that England looks a strong contender in the semi-finals.

“India are dependent on just one or two players. Most of their batting is out of form. Right now, only one or two players are carrying the team. When you are dependent on one or two players, you cannot dominate, which is why England are favorites against India.” Aamir said.

They have been through tough situations – Rashid Latif on Harry Brook’s England

Rashid Latif also backed England to defeat India in the semi-finals. He pointed out that the conditions at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium could work in England’s favour, especially if they chase the target in lights. Latif said England had already dealt with difficult conditions during the tournament.

Latif said during the same show, “They have gone through tough conditions in the tournament. Two or three of their batsmen have not been successful yet. Buttler and Salt have not done well yet. If even one of them gets going, and with a strong middle order, then if England get a chance to bat second in Mumbai, they will definitely have a good chance.”
