The Pakistan national cricket team has once again been embroiled in fresh controversy after shocking claims emerged about how a young player was treated within the system. Ahmed Shehzad has told disturbing things about former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq.
His revelations have raised serious questions on how decisions are taken in Pakistan’s cricket structure. He made sensational claims after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the squad for the Bangladesh tour.
Ahmed Shehzad targets Misbah-ul-Haq over treatment of Hasibullah Khan
During a discussion on Geo News, Shehzad talked about wicketkeeper-batsman Hasibullah Khan and claimed that the youngster has been badly overlooked despite his strong performances. He said that Hasibullah has an impressive record in domestic cricket and has even put in solid performances for Pakistan Shaheens, but he is still not getting chances at the top level.

Shehzad revealed that things got worse when Hasibullah asked questions about why he was not getting chances and this upset Misbah-ul-Haq, so he spent the entire season on the bench.
It was reportedly said that the team was decided by a group that included director of domestic cricket Khurram Niazi, chief selector Aaqib Javed, coach Mike Hesson and consultant Misbah-ul-Haq.
Ahmed Shehzad said on Geo News, “Hasibullah Khan was the next choice for wicket-keeping. Where is he? Despite performing well in every match, he was ignored and kept on the bench even in domestic cricket. So, he asked the coach about this. I believe he questioned Misbah-ul-Haq and it hurt his ego. Maybe he felt bad thinking how could someone ask him a question? His Subsequently, the player was ruled out for the entire season.”
Misbah-ul-Haq also stopped the salary of the young player!!
Shahzad also claimed that the young player’s payments were also withheld for several months, raising serious concerns over how players are being treated in the system.
He further said, “Misbah-ul-Haq even stopped his salary. It’s been three to four months, and he still hasn’t received his payment. When did it start happening that someone’s salary can be stopped just like that? Will we not be held accountable for these things one day?”
The matter did not end here. When the team for the Bangladesh tour was announced and Hasibullah Khan was not selected again, he called Mike Hesson and asked the reason. And Shehzad said that this is completely normal, because if a player is not selected, he will naturally ask what he needs to improve and what else he needs to do, and will know the reason behind being ignored.

Shehzad revealed that the young cricketer was informed by the Pakistan head coach that the team was being selected by a group that included director of domestic cricket Khurram Niazi, Mike Hesson, chief selector Aaqib Javed and Misbah-ul-Haq acting as a consultant.
During the meeting, the former head coach said that the reason behind Hasibullah’s ouster were his attitude problems and disciplinary issues, and Shehzad criticized the legendary batsman for ruining a young player’s career because of his “likes and dislikes” on live TV.
He signed off by saying, “Who decides these things alone? What are the criteria to judge one’s discipline? Such decisions affect the future of young players. Situations like this usually happen when selection is not done purely on merit and instead depends on individual likes and dislikes.”

“Hasibullah was dropped from domestic cricket despite performing for Shaheen. When he asked Misbah why this happened, it hurt his ego and he was dropped for the entire season. His salary was also withheld.”
