All -rounder Ravindra Jadeja and fast bowler Mohammad Siraj won the best career position in the Test rankings.
On October 4, Team India won the West Indies and 140 runs in the first Test at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and took a 1-0 lead in the two-match series. The second and final Test is scheduled to begin at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi from 10 October.
Mohammad Siraj achieved career best bowling rankings in ICC Test
Mohammad Siraj was the best bowler for India in the first Test against the West Indies. The right-handed fast bowler took seven wickets (4-40 and 3-31) in both innings. Mohammad Siraj jumped three places in the ICC Test bowler rankings and reached the best 12th position of his career with 718 points.
His fast bowling partner, Jasprit Bumra retained his place as a top -order Test bowler. Left -handed spinner Kuldeep Yadav also reached the joint 21st position up seven places after taking four wickets in Ahmedabad.
Meanwhile, the West Indies had to struggle throughout the match, no batsman scored a half -century and no bowler took more than two wickets.
Ravindra Jadeja achieved career best batting rankings in ICC Test
Ravindra Jadeja has benefited in the ICC Test rankings after a brilliant performance in the first match. His unbeaten 104 -run innings took him to 25th position in the batting chart. He took four wickets in the second innings, which further strengthened his position as a top -order Test all -rounder.
KL Rahul reached the 35th position above four places after his century. Young wicketkeeper-batsman Dhruv Jurlel jumped at 20 places after hitting his first Test century and moved to 65th position and Jadeja’s spin-heading partner Washington Sundar moved forward four places to 11th of all-rounders.
However, not every Indian player benefited. Despite the team’s good overall performance, opener Yashasvi Jaiswal slipped two places in the batting rankings to reach seventh position.

Shubman Gill got a dream in his first home Test as captain, when India defeated West Indies by an innings and 140 runs in Ahmedabad. Indian bowlers dismissed the visiting team for 162 runs in the first innings.
After this, the hosts declared their innings on a total score of 448/5 thanks to the centuries of Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul and Dhruv Juril. The West Indies resisted slightly in their second innings and were dismissed for 146 runs in just 45.1 overs.
India won within three days and took a 1-0 lead in the two-match series. Only Elic Athanaz (38), Justin Greaves (25), and Jeden Seals (22) provided any notable resistance.
Ravindra Jadeja was adjudged Player of the Match to take a century in the first innings and four wickets in the second innings, while Mohammad Siraj (3/31) and Kuldeep Yadav (2/23) also performed brilliantly with the ball.
