The incident occurred on the afternoon of 24 August, and later that evening, he was seen in action for Birmingham Phoenix against Manchester Originals at Old Trafford. Duckett admitted his mistake, but the police did not settle it out of court with a simple fine.

The police proceeded with appropriate legal charges as it was a high-speed incident. The cricketer submitted his guilty plea online through the single justice process and the case went straight to court.

At Cannock Magistrates Court, Duckett was given four penalty points on his driving licence. Additionally, the England star was fined £700 and ordered to pay £120 in court fees and other charges and a £280 victim surcharge. He will receive written instructions on how to settle the payment.

Ben Duckett’s 2015 car crash and 2017 night-out incident make headlines again

This is not the first time Duckett has faced legal trouble. In fact, he was involved in a drink-driving incident in 2015, when he had just started his career. Duckett’s car crashed into a ditch in Northamptonshire and the court banned him from driving for 12 months.

Ben Duckett once again made headlines for the wrong reasons in 2017 after a late-night incident where he allegedly poured a drink on James Anderson during a team outing. This incident created a huge controversy and he had to face heavy criticism.

This incident has come to light at a time when he is already in the news for withdrawing from IPL 2026 at the last moment. Duckett has decided to focus on domestic cricket and secure his place in the England team. He will play for Nottinghamshire in the preliminary round of the County Championship.

When MS Dhoni was fined for speeding in Ranchi

Earlier, former Team India captain MS Dhoni had also broken traffic rules in Ranchi. His car was caught speeding on the Kanke Ring Road, where the limit is 60 km/h. The automatic traffic camera recorded Dhoni’s luxury car touching a speed of 91 kmph near Birsa Agricultural University.

Later, Dhoni was fined ₹1,000 for the violation after the e-challan was generated under Section 183 of the Motor Vehicles Act. However, the entire process was automated, with the fine being sent directly to the great cricketer through a digital system.
