After Liam Livingstone, Tabraiz Shamsi makes brutal allegations against BCCI, CSA and global boards

The latest interview of England all-rounder Liam Livingston has dropped like a bombshell. After the interview, South African spinner Tabraiz Shamsi also spoke on the matter. Will the process of speaking out soon turn into a movement?

Liam Livingston claimed that he had little knowledge of why he was dropped from the national cricket team as the team management and officials barely had any significant conversation with him. Livingston accused the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) of dropping him from the team without any transparency.

Liam Livingston blasts bomb against England Cricket Board

Livingston is one of the best players of the England cricket team in the limited overs format. The all-rounder, known for hitting the ball hard, played 60 T20 Internationals, 39 ODIs and one Test for England before being dropped. He last appeared for the team last year in the Champions Trophy in Pakistan. This tournament was a nightmare for the cricketer as he managed to score only 33 runs and take three wickets in three matches.

He claimed that it was head coach Brendon McCullum who had called the cricketer and informed him that he had been dropped from the team. Liam Livingston claimed that the call lasted barely a minute.

“I asked why; they said they wanted to try someone else. It was Baz (McCullum). Brookie (Harry Brook) sent me a message. Casey (director of cricket Rob Key) didn’t say anything, he said, “I’ll talk to you in the summer. I actually rang him one day and he said he was busy at a testing camp in Loughborough and then I didn’t hear from him until the end of September,” Liam Livingston, ESPN Cricinfo.

Liam Livingston gets a brutal reality check

It is always a painful event for any cricketer around the world to know about being dropped from the main team. Cricketers are hoping to get an explanation from the cricket board or management behind this action. In the case of Liam Livingston, the ECB may have failed to communicate clearly.

He added, “It probably presented that group as a collective. It was an eye-opening experience about groups and governance: if you’re in it, you’re in it, and if you’re not in it, nobody cares about you.”

South African spinner Tabrez Shamsi also raised his voice

To continue this trend, Tabraiz Shamsi shared some posts on the social media platform ‘X’. Shamsi came into limelight when he decided not to sign a central contract with Cricket South Africa in favor of exploring franchise T20 leagues. The matter between Cricket South Africa and the spinner was resolved after being dragged into a legal process.

Shamsi’s last match for South Africa was an ODI against Pakistan on February 12, 2025. And his last T20I appearance for the Proteas was in the 2024 T20 World Cup final against India on June 29, 2024.

“It’s sad that this is even a topic of discussion! It’s strange that it’s the same all over the world. I think our children’s children will also retire demanding clarity without getting it. I seriously wonder who will be the first person in power to actually get this right!”, Tabrez Shamsi wrote on his ‘X’ post.

“Many people think so…many, many people speak about these things behind the scenes…I don’t hesitate to say it out loud in hopes of changing things for the betterment of everyone,” he said in a separate post.
