Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill has once again made a lewd comment against another IPL team on Instagram.
GT defeated both Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore in consecutive matches on 26 April and 30 April. The matches were in Chennai and Ahmedabad respectively.
Gill contributed with the bat in both the matches. Consecutive wins have taken Gujarat Titans to number 5 in the points table.
“Nandri Chennai” – Shubman Gill on Instagram
After GT defeated CSK in Chennai, Gill posted a picture of himself holding the yellow whistle on Instagram. Gill captioned the photo ‘Nandri Chennai’ (Thank you Chennai).
Yellow is the primary color of CSK, and ‘Whistle Podu’ (Blow the whistle) is the tagline of CSK. In that match, CSK suffered a batting collapse as GT got its bowling right. Ruturaj Gaikwad batted the entire innings and scored a commendable unbeaten 74 runs and gave the CSK bowlers something to bowl at.
Gill scored 58 runs with Sai Sudarshan, who himself scored 87 runs, to give GT a spectacular win.
“Play Hold” – Shubman Gill takes the second shot
During the match against RCB, all-rounder Jason Holder proved to be the difference as he produced a player of the match performance.
After a great start for RCB, Holder’s 2 wickets and 3 catches ensured a middle-order collapse from which RCB never really recovered.
Including 3 wickets of Arshad Khan and 2 wickets of Rashid Khan, RCB could score only 155 runs.
GT was in no real danger of losing the match chasing such a low target. Shubman Gill opened the innings with 24 runs against Josh Hazlewood and eventually top scored with 43 runs from 18 balls.
Jos Buttler scored 39 off 19 and GT’s notorious middle order stalled the low-scoring chase.
Jason Holder added 12 runs with his excellent fielding and was adjudged player of the match.
After the match, Gill posted a picture of himself with Holder and captioned it, “Play hold @jasefolder98 bold performance from the team tonight.”
Gill’s caption ‘Play Bold’ was an obvious joke on Jason Holder’s name and ‘Play Bold’ was RCB’s tagline.

With 373 runs in 8 matches, Gill is currently the fifth-highest run-scorer of IPL 2026, and the highest run-scorer for his team. Gill’s average is also 47 and strike rate is 155.
He has also scored 3 fifties with a high score of 86
GT’s next match
Shubman Gill and his team will remain in Ahmedabad for their next match and will host Punjab Kings there on May 3.
Both the teams started their season against each other with a win for PBKS. After this two-match winning run, Gujarat Titans will surely be hoping for their chance.
PBKS started the season undefeated for 7 consecutive matches, but this streak was broken in their last game. They would like to achieve the season double from the Titans.
