The Control Board for Cricket in India (BCCI) has invited applications for new appointments in its national selection committees, including senior male panels. The two members will be converted into the Ajit Agkar -led selection committee, which recently selected the squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025.
BCCI named India’s 15-Khiladi squad for the 2025 Asia Cup on Tuesday, August 19, which is scheduled to be held in Dubai and Abu Dhabi from 9 September to 28 September. Suryakumar Yadav will captain the T20I team with Shubman Gill, who was recently appointed Test Captain, who was serving as his vice-captains.
BCCI invites applications for national selector posts
BCCI opened applications for two posts in the Senior Male Selection Committee. Candidates will have to apply till 5:00 pm on September 10. After screening, shortlisted applicants can be called for interview, and all selected members are expected to follow the BCCI rules.

The BCCI said in a release, “The application deadline has been scheduled for 5:00 pm on September 10. After the screening and shortlisting process, candidates can be called for individual interviews for further evaluation. All roles require the highest standards of BCCI rules, regulations and integrity.”
For the role of a national selector of senior men, applicants must have played seven tests, 30 first -class matches or 10 Odis with 20 first -class matches. He should have retired from cricket at least five years ago and should not be served in any BCCI Cricket Committee for more than five years.
Two senior male selection committee members have to be replaced
The Senior Men Selection Committee led by Ajit Agkar currently consists of SS Das, Subroto Banerjee, Ajay Ratra and S Sharath. This panel selected India’s squad for the upcoming Asia Cup.
With the end of Sharath’s tenure, they are expected to be replaced, and another situation can be evacuated by SS Das or Subroto Banerjee. Ajay Ratra, who joined October 2024, is likely to maintain his role.
Ajit Agkar’s contract as the chief selector has been extended to the 2026 T20 World Cup. The BCCI is implementing these changes a pack before the domestic and international session, including the preparation of the T20 World Cup.
BCCI opens applications for four senior women’s selection committee
BCCI also invited applications for four posts in the Senior Women’s Selection Committee. Candidates should be players of former Indian women’s team and fulfill the retirement and committee experience requirements. Panel will manage selection in formats and age groups.
The female panel, currently under the leadership of Neetu David, will see an overhaul with the end of her term in September. Shyama Shaw is expected to live, while David, Aarti Vaidya and Renu will step down. In particular, there is currently no representative in the south region.
BCCI is looking to fill a location in Junior Men’s selection committee, which handles the selection for teams up to under -22 levels and manages the junior tournament. A change in this panel is expected, which is currently headed by Thilak Naidu.
