The PCB said in an official statement, “The Cricket Board of Pakistan is clearly baseless, fabricated, and defamation allegations on social media, including Shaheen Afridi, team captain Salman Ali Aga and members of the coaching staff.”
“The PCB has confirmed that no such incident has taken place at any point during training or practice sessions. These malicious rumors are completely fictional and clearly focuses with the intention of the clear garland to do discord within the national squad.”
PCB considers it a serious and predetermined defamation campaign
The PCB called the rumors part of a deliberate defamation campaign. According to the statement, the board warned that no one faced legal consequences to spread such false claims. This urged the public, media and online platforms to avoid sharing unacceptable information.
“PCB considers it a serious and prefabricated defamation campaign, aimed at damaging the professional integrity of target individuals and the collective environment of the squad,” the statement continued. “Any person was found to be complicated in promoting these claims, would be completely accountable under the applied laws.”
“PCB is committed to protect the sanctity of its players, employees and national team from improper and harmful speculation,” it said.

Pakistan entered the series after a disappointing T20i loss in Bangladesh, causing several changes in the team. Amid rumors, the team responded well on the field. He defeated the West Indies under the leadership of Shai Hope, scored 14 runs in the initial T20I at Central Browd Park in Florida.
Afridi, defending a total of 178 runs, took a wicket for 27 runs in his four overs. Sam Ayub was named Player of the Match for his all-round performance.
The remaining two matches of the three -match series are scheduled to be held at the same place on 3 and 4 August respectively.
