A similar incident happened with the star cricketer in May last year, when his profile name appeared in the likes section of actress Avneet Kaur’s photo. Fans immediately took notice and Kohli started trending on social media. Amid growing speculation, the batsman came forward with a clarification. The Delhi-born man then claimed that he had no intention of negotiating. But this happened due to an algorithmic error.
After liking a photo of Avneet Kaur, Virat Kohli said, “I would like to clarify that while clearing my feed, the algorithm may have accidentally recorded an interaction. There was no intention behind it. I request that no unnecessary assumptions be made. I appreciate your understanding.”
Since the current incident appears to be similar to the previous incident, netizens are widely using the word ‘algorithm’ to relate to the previous incident.
