Former Pakistan National Cricket Team all -rounder Mohammad Hafaz has attacked superstar batsmen Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan after his Asia Cup 2025 snub.
Mohammad Hafeez said that Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are not prominent players of Pakistan as they have not won any matches for the country.

Rizwan and Babur are considered as two of the biggest names in Pakistan cricket. He is also considered two of the two best batsmen to emerge from the country in the last decade, and his personal records speak for themselves.

However, in the last few years, they have not won any matches for Pakistan and have been at the end of a heavy backlash.
Their poor performance hit his ax from Pakistan’s teams, and Rizwan and Babur faced a new shock when they were snatched from the squad which was recently selected for the Asia Cup 2025.
It was estimated that Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were likely to return to the Pakistan T20I squad for the Asia Cup 2025 due to their experience, but the selectors ignored the pair.

Former Pakistan head coach Mohammad Hafaz supported the decision of the selectors not to include Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan in the squad for the Asia Cup, and while talking on his YouTube channel, he said:
“He (Babur and Rizwan) prominent players will be wrong and unfair. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are not the leading players of Pakistan cricket at the moment. The lead players are those who win the match for Pakistan.
He said, “If we see for two years for two and a half years, then the players who have performed continuously are Salman Ali Aga, Sam Ayub and Hasan Nawaz. Why are we not talking about him? He is the current player to win the match for Pakistan.”
I think Babur and Rizwan need to be worried
Hafiz further said that Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan should seriously introspect and see where their careers are going.
“I think Babur and Rizwan need to be worried about their positions in the team. They first need to prove themselves as a good player; Head players come later. Both were good in the past, but now they are not giving results,” they commented.
He said, “Both need to be fully involved in the game; otherwise, the results will not come. The same goes to Nasim Shah and Shaheen Shah Afridi; they are not even giving the match -winning performances for Pakistan,” he said.
Mohammad Hafaz also urged the selection committee to identify talented players and return them who can serve the country for the next 10-15 years.
“We should focus on players who can contribute for the next 10-15 years. Our media criticizes one or two players and criticizes one or two others, who is wrong.
