The Afghanistan Cricket Board has approached the BCCI to host India for a three-match T20 series and TOI has reported that the series is likely to be held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in India.
As of now, Afghanistan are likely to tour India for a one-off Test and three-match ODI series starting from June 6. The series is scheduled to be played at multiple venues across India.
Many new players have been included in the series in the seriesAs choice of fast bowler Prince Yadav And there is every possibility of Mohsin Khan becoming debut in this series. After this tour, ACB has approached BCCI for a return tour.
Afghanistan may host India for a three-match series
For the first time in the history of the game, Afghanistan has shown interest in hosting the Indians for an international series this year. However, the series will be held in the national capital of India, Delhi.
TOI has reported that Afghanistan are aiming to host them for a three-match T20I series at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in September. there is an official announcement waited forbut matches are scheduled to be played on 13, 16 and 19 September.

BCCI mediated between DDCA and ACB
TOI report has claimed Afghanistan Cricket Board approached BCCI for the return tour and since BCCI is helping many boards in their administration, they have Agreed to this because of his good relations.
“There is a good relationship between BCCI and ACB. BCCI is helping other boards like Ireland, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe by sending Indian teams to play A series there to promote Finance of Those boards. An agreement has been reached between BCCI and ACB in this regard. An official announcement will be made after some modalities are completed,” as quoted in the TOI report.
“The BCCI brokered an agreement between the ACB and the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) for the availability of a home base for Afghanistan for the series. The DDCA is also scheduling its Delhi Premier League T20 accordingly,” he said.
India’s selectors will select the team keeping the Asian Games in mind
Afghanistan has hosted matches in India for almost a decade, as they Earlier, series were played against Ireland in 2017 and Bangladesh in 2018 in Greater Noida and Dehradun respectively. The last time they hosted New Zealand in Greater Noida in September 2024.
The tentative schedule has been shared with the Indian selectors, as they have to choose a team for the upcoming Asian Games, which begins in a few days conclusion of This tour. The cricket competition in the Asian Games is starting from 23 September.
“The itinerary has been shared with India’s national selection committee as they have to pick a 15-member T20 squad for the Asian Games in late September. The cricket competition at the Asian Games is scheduled to begin on September 23. The selectors will select the team accordingly,” a BCCI source told TOI.
