Afghanistan announces strong squad for India tour, includes Rashid Khan and Rahmanullah Gurbaz

Afghanistan has announced its squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series and the one-off Test series against India. Hashmatullah Shahidi has been made the captain of both the teams.

Afghanistan are all set to tour India in June after the end of the current IPL season, which will conclude with the final to be played on May 31. The one-off Test between the two countries is not part of the WTC campaign, while the one-day series will mark the beginning of preparations for the ICC ODI World Cup 2027.

Afghanistan announces squad for upcoming tour of India

The Afghanistan Cricket Board has decided to retain Hashmatullah Shahidi as the captain of both the ODI and Test teams. Rashid Khan is the only Test missing with reports claiming that he will no longer be able to play the longest format due to his injury concerns.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Rahmat Shah and Azmatullah Umarzai are part of both the teams; However, star batsman Ibrahim Zadran was surprisingly left out of the Test squad.
