Abrar’s indirect message has immediately been seen as a warning to India, as both the rivals are set to face each other in Colombo on February 15 in one of the biggest matches of the T20 World Cup 2026.
Abrar Ahmed’s controversial celebration against India
Pakistani spinners are already known for their aggressive celebrations, especially while playing against India. His most famous and controversial move is to shake the head, or walk out, in celebration. This celebration has got him into trouble many times before.
During the Champions Trophy 2025, Abrar had dismissed Shubman Gill with a smart carrom ball. After taking the wicket, he looked towards Gill and gave him the “Get out” signal with a strong bow. Many people did not like this behavior and called the celebration disrespectful.
He did the same thing again after dismissing Sanju Samson in the Asia Cup 2025 final. This gesture once again attracted attention. After the final, Indian players Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana and Jitesh Sharma were seen joking while imitating Abrar’s head-bowed celebration.
He did this playfully towards Samson to make fun of Abrar. Now, with the T20 World Cup 2026 on the radar, Abrar Ahmed has made it clear that he is not planning to change his celebrations, especially against India.

Pakistan vs Australia 1st T20 match highlights
Meanwhile, Pakistan finally broke their seven-year drought and pulled off a thrilling win against Australia in T20 cricket in dramatic fashion. Chasing the target of 168, Australia never looked settled as Pakistan’s bowlers continued to attack and did not allow any partnership to settle.
Wickets kept falling and the target soon slipped out of Australia’s control. Travis Head tried to provide some early hope but could only manage 23 runs before falling. Cameron Green fought hard and lasted for a while after scoring 36 runs, but he did not get any support from the other end.
Many Australian players returned without facing 15 balls against Pakistan. The biggest surprise came from fast bowler Xavier Bartlett, who played a courageous innings in the end. He remained unbeaten on 34 runs in 25 balls and tried to do the impossible. However, with no support around him, his effort was not enough to save Australia from defeat.
Earlier in the match, Pakistan made its innings after coming under pressure. Young opener Saim Ayub played a confident inning of 40 runs, while captain Salman Ali Aga scored 39 runs in the middle overs to take Pakistan past 160 runs. Adam Zampa took four wickets against the hosts.
