Team India opener Abhishek Sharma explained the reason behind his ‘El-Housture’ festival after playing a match against Pakistan in the Super Four Clash of Asia Cup 2025. The left -handed batsman said that L means love, and his celebration is for those who love the Indian cricket team.
India defeated Pakistan by six wickets at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, 21 September. Indian bowlers limited Pakistan to 171/5 after winning the toss. Suryakumar Yadav’s side chased the target with seven balls. Abhishek Sharma was named the Player of the Match.

Abhishek Sharma arrived in his fifty in just 24 balls off the fourth ball of eighth during India’s innings. He made a delivery from the cover of the Saim Ayub past for a limit. The 25 -year -old celebrated his signature ‘L’ (love) gesture and a flight kiss towards the stand.
Sharma recorded fifty fifty by an Indian in T20 against Pakistan. He became the fastest batsman to reach 50 sixes in T20I, obtained in only 331 balls.
Sharma completed the innings with only 39 delivery with 74 runs, including six fours and five sixes. He is currently the leading run-goldter in the tournament, with an average of 43.25 in four innings and 173 runs at an impressive strike rate of 208.43.

In a conversation with Captain Suryakumar Yadav, Abhishek revealed the reason behind his signature celebration of removing his gloves, rolling his sleeves and creating a gesture. Abhishek said that the festival is dedicated to all the fans supporting India.
“It means love. It is for all our fans, who are happy for us and India. This festival is dedicated to them. It is for India,” Abhishek Said in a video posted by BCCI on social media.

The 25 -year -old said that the team’s focus always needs the team, whether it rotates the strike or building a long innings. He also shared an emotional moment, remembering his father, batting on the screen.
Abhishek said, “From the very beginning, our coach has asked us to remain selfless. Whether it is rotating the strike or playing a long innings, it is always about what the team needs.”
He said, “When I was standing at the crease, I remembered how my father would see me batting on the screen. It was a special moment,” he said.
Abhishek and Shubman Gill started a flight to India with the inaugural stand of 105 runs in less than 105 runs. Gill scored 47 runs from 28 balls, including eight borders. Team India faced Bangladesh in their second Super 4S encounter in Dubai on Wednesday, 24 September.
