Pakistan’s young fast bowler Ihsanullah has openly challenged Indian left -arm opener Abhishek Sharma. The batsman played with Pakistani fast bowlers during the Asia Cup; However, the fast bowler claimed to dismiss the batsman within just 3 balls of one over.
Indian opener Abhishek Sharma was in some strong form in the Asia Cup, because whenever he used to play against each other, Men in Blue used to dominate Pakistan.
He has played three times in this Asia Cup and three different Indian players were Player of the Match on all three occasions.
Abhishek scored 300+ runs at the Continental Championship. He scored a fast innings of 30 runs in the group-stage games and then scored 70 runs against Pakistan in the Super-4 phase.
Abhishek Sharma was challenged by a Pakistani pacer
Left -handed batsman Abhishek Sharma has been disastrous for the opposition in recent times. Within just 1 year of debut for India in the shortest format of the game, he has moved the number 1 in the ICC Men T20I batting rankings.
Along with the batting rankings, he has also surpassed David Malan’s record of the highest rating points in the ICC T20I rankings. He now has 926 points, which has the highest number of points for a T20I cricketer.
However, Abhishek has been challenged by 22 -year -old Pakistani fast bowler Ihsanullah, as he has said that he could have dismissed the opener in his first over, and he too within just 3 balls of his spell.
Ihsanullah said, “If Abhishek Sharma had played in front of me, he would not have been more than 6 balls. I would have dismissed him within 3 balls of my over.”

Ihsanullah auditioned for the upcoming T20i series for Pakistan
Pakistan’s fast bowler made his T20 E debut against Afghanistan on 24 March 2023, and his only ODI was against New Zealand in April 2023.
He has played 4 T20E matches and only one ODI match, and he has not got a chance to play for Pakistan in the last 2 years of the competition. After the crushing defeat in the Asia Cup, Pakistan is considering giving more opportunities to the youth in the team.
Ihsanullah may also be eager to audition for the upcoming series for Pakistan, as they have a busy international calendar before ICC T20 World Cup 2026 and ODI World Cup 2027.
Abhishek Sharma is waiting for ODI debut despite a great performance in the Asia Cup
Despite his excellent form in the Asia Cup 2025, Abhishek Sharma will have to wait for his debut in the Indian ODI team. India has announced its team for the upcoming 3 -match ODI series against Australia, and Yashasvi Jaiswal has been selected for the team; However, Abhishek Sharma has been denied an opportunity.
However, he will be seen acting for India in the T20I series next time and will open with Shubman Gill. This will be Abhishek’s first match on Australian soil, as this batsman will be tested on Australia’s bouncy pitches.
