Former India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin impressed the batting of young opener Abhishek Sharma during the Super 4 match against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 in Dubai on 21 September. Ashwin said that a cover drive by Abhishek reminded him of MS Dhoni’s signature helicopter shot.
In Blue, men chased a target of 172 runs to secure a six -wicket win. Abhishek scored 74 off just 39 balls, including six fours and five sixes. The left -handed batsman broke the third fifty of his T20I career and put the team in a comfortable position before being dismissed in the 13th over.

Abhishek Sharma is going to carry forward the legacy of Yuvraj Singh – Ravichandran Ashwin
Abhishek has often talked about the big role played by Yuvraj Singh in his career. Ravichandran Ashwin said that this is the beginning of Abhishek’s journey. He said that Abhishek may carry forward Yuvraj’s legacy in white-wise cricket.

Abhishek Sharma earned the Player of the Player of the Match Award for his explosive 74 -run innings against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025. In particular, Southpai scored Quickfire 30s in all three groups-the 30s.
