“It’s not a guarantee that both of them would be there for that next World Cup. It is probably part of thinking when he made Shubman Gill a one -day captain. They have a good chance to be there, young gun, incredible, and a great leader. I think it was the right step, still for Rohit and Virat.

“They find themselves in the ODI side. I think that is why they are hanging to play another World Cup for Team India. It’s great to see. Is it going to happen, I don’t know. I don’t know. Honestly? Form-deaults or they are playing enough cricket? A lot will be taken from them in 2027. Then it’s not a long way.
A lot of cricket is to be played and they have to be kept – AB de Villiers
De Villiers believes that the form will play an important role in deciding the fate of Kohli and Rohit for the next 50 -over World Cup. He said:

It will be a big asset for Team India to keep them there in the World Cup. But the priority is to score runs. I have no doubt that they will come through both of them and we will see them in the 2027 World Cup.
