Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has strongly criticized the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) over their handling of the Blessing Muzarabani scandal.
The whole Blessing Muzarabani controversy has now become a big talking point in the world of cricket, and things are getting messier with each passing day. The Zimbabwean fast bowler’s simple decision to choose IPL 2026 over PSL 2026 has now turned into a big controversy.
Blessing Muzarabani’s agent reveals shocking details
The PCB has banned Blessing Muzarabani for two years after he left PSL 2026 and joined Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the ongoing IPL 2026, saying the bowler did not honor his commitment to the PSL.

But the story took a shocking turn when Muzarabani’s agent made the revelation. The Zimbabwean bowler’s agent has clearly stated that no proper contract was signed between Muzarabani and Islamabad United.
It was just basic conversation and agreement in words, nothing official on paper. Even when KKR contacted them, the PSL team did not send the consent letter.

And because of that, the bowler signed a contract with KKR for IPL 2026. Reacting to the episode, Aakash Chopra said that it was certain that the PCB would not tolerate Muzarabani leaving the PSL for the IPL, but they forgot his “technical glitch” in the whole drama.
Chopra said in a video posted on his Called; they have agreed on some conditions.”
Aakash Chopra explains why NOC needs a proper contract
The cricket pundit further explained that a player needs a properly signed contract to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from his home board. Without an NOC, players cannot officially confirm participation in any league, which requires them to have agreements on paper.
Since Blessing Muzarabani was not given any contract by Islamabad United team, he could not even apply for NOC at that stage. During this time, KKR approached the Zimbabwe star with a fair offer and clear paperwork. So, he accepted it and moved to IPL.
Aakash Chopra calls PSL’s punishment harsh for Muzarabani
Chopra feels that the situation has been handled poorly and questioned the PSL and PCB as to how a player can be blamed for breaking a contract that was never actually signed. He also described the punishment given to the bowler as very harsh.
The cricket pundit further added, “They say, Khisiyaani billi khamma noche. It is absolutely right. This saying is fitting at the right place. Why? Because you did not sign the contract. Because you did not send the contract. How will something which was not sent be signed? And this is really harsh. In two cases. First, a ban for two years. This is generally a very harsh thing. In which your administrative clerical error is that you do not send the contract.”
He did not cheat: Chopra defends Muzarabani
Muzarabani has been facing heavy criticism, with many accusing him of betraying the PSL, and commentators criticizing him for accusing him without knowing all the facts.

Chopra concluded by saying, “And secondly, the amount of hate the poor guy is getting on social media. Hate is also useless these days. The poor guy is getting so much hate that he has cheated the Pakistan Super League. He did not cheat. This is not a compromise. This is the reality.”
