Aakash Chopra takes a dig at Pakistani PM’s ‘electrification’ tag
The Pakistani PM’s social media post immediately caught attention, but Aakash Chopra was not impressed. The former Indian batsman responded by cooling down the hype about Pakistan’s narrow win over the Kangaroos in Lahore on Thursday.
Chopra pointed out that the Australian team playing the Pakistan series was not a full strength team, with many senior players missing. He also suggested that a 22-run win in a match in which Pakistan had scored close to 170 runs should not be interpreted as anything extraordinary.

By defeating Australia, Pakistan sent a clear message of T20 World Cup 2026
Meanwhile, just days after the boycott talks made headlines, Pakistan clearly showed that their focus is on the T20 World Cup 2026 by defeating Australia by 22 runs in Lahore. The Men in Green got off to a good start with Sam Ayub and captain Salman Ali Aga putting on a vital partnership of 74 runs.

Ayub played an important inning of 40 runs, while Agha scored 39 runs in 27 balls. At half time, Pakistan’s score was 92 runs for 3 wickets, but after the partnership broke, the middle order collapsed. Adam Zampa and Xavier Bartlett took vital wickets and Pakistan finished at 168/8, scoring only 76 runs in the last ten overs.
Australia started aggressively and Travis Head struck early. However, Sam Ayub turned the match by dismissing Head and Short cheaply. A brilliant run out from Salman Agha sent back Matt Renshaw and shifted the momentum completely in Pakistan’s favour.
Abrar Ahmed then removed Cooper Connolly and another run out made things worse for Australia. Cameron Green tried to fight it out alone, but once he was out for 34 in the 13th over, the chase fell apart. Pakistan’s spinners kept their spirits up and registered a comfortable 22-run win, proving that their entire focus is on the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026.
