After India’s T20 World Cup victory, all-rounder Hardik Pandya was seen celebrating with his girlfriend Mahika Sharma. Pandya was seen wrapped in the tricolor while doing some activity with his girlfriend, for which a complaint has been filed against him.
India won the ICC T20 World Cup for the second time in 2026 after winning it for the first time in 17 years in 2024. Rohit Sharma led the Indian team to win it in Barbados, breaking India’s drought in ICC tournaments, and then Suryakumar Yadav led the young Indian team to defend it historically in 2026.
India first won the tournament in 2026, which was the first time a team had won it on home soil. On the other hand, India became the first team in T20 World Cup history to win two consecutive tournaments. They are now officially the most successful T20 World Cup team with three titles.
Pune lawyer files complaint against Hardik Pandya for contempt of national flag
After the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya was seen celebrating with his girlfriend Mahika Sharma. While Hardik Pandya was wrapped in the tricolor flag, he was seen kissing Mahika.
When all these players represent the country, they must maintain the integrity of the national flag. A lawyer has filed a complaint with the Pune Police, demanding an FIR against the Indian cricketer for allegedly insulting the national flag.
“This act is an offense under the relevant law and legal action should be taken. It is the duty of every citizen to respect the dignity of the national flag,” the Shivaji Nagar police station complaint application quoted by PTI said.
Struggle continues in Hardik Pandya’s life before 2024 T20 World Cup
During a conversation with the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, he also reflected on the challenges facing them ahead of the 2024 World Cup. There was a big problem in Pandya’s life during that World Cup, as he filed for divorce from his ex-wife.
Even before the start of the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup, he revealed how many things had affected his life ahead of the tournament. He revealed that he had then made up his mind about liberation.
Recalling his performance in the tournament, Pandya said, “I wanted to make a strong comeback. I did that and helped my team win the trophy after 17 years.”
After this, Hardik scored 144 runs at an average of 48.00 and took 11 important wickets at an economy of 7.64. His best performance came in the final against South Africa, when he played a cameo with the bat and took three big wickets with the ball.
Hardik Pandya reveals his real motivation behind winning 2026 T20 World Cup
Hardik Pandya, who was a part of both the 2024 and 2026 sides, has revealed that this was the beginning of India’s dominance and instead it was the fulfillment of a promise he made to himself after the previous win in 2024.
“After the win in Barbados (in the 2024 final against South Africa), I promised myself that whatever tournament I play, I will play to win and lift the trophy,” Pandya told Star Sports. He further claimed that the win against New Zealand in Ahmedabad was actually a confirmation of the promise he had made to himself.
The 32-year-old experienced Indian all-rounder performed brilliantly in the tournament and scored almost 250 runs and took 9 wickets with the ball. The 32-year-old player was one of the four Indian players included in the ICC squad for the 2026 T20 World Cup.
