Pakistan national cricket team Test captain Babar Azam has added another special feather to his already impressive international career. Babar Azam created history by crossing the 4,500-run mark in the format during the ongoing two-match Test series against West Indies.
The current Test series is already special as Babar returns as Pakistan’s Test captain. And now he has become one of the few Pakistani batsmen to cross the 4,500-run mark in Test cricket. He reached the feat on the second day of the first Test at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Taruba.
Babar Azam created history by scoring 4,500 test runs
After crossing the milestone, Babar Azam became the first cricketer in the world to score more than 4,500 runs in all three international formats. He also became the 10th Pakistani player to cross the 4,500-run mark in the traditional format of the game.
Along with his 4,504 Test runs, Babar has scored 6,626 runs in One Day Internationals and 4,596 runs in T20 Internationals and has become the first player in the world to achieve this special feat. Meanwhile, Clive Lloyd criticized the ECB over Ben Stokes’ nightclub controversy.

When this stylish right-handed batsman came out to bat in the opening match of the ongoing two-match Test series, he needed only 19 runs to complete this historic feat. He reached this mark easily before the end of his innings of 23 runs off 38 balls.
Babar Azam joins the list of Pakistan’s top Test batsmen
West Indies fast bowler Jaden Seales dismissed the Pakistan Test captain in the 46th over of Pakistan’s innings at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Taruba. Before getting out, Babar made a useful partnership of 41 runs with Shan Masood for the third wicket.
With this feat, Babar became only the 10th Pakistani batsman to score more than 4,500 runs in Test cricket. He reached this milestone in his 63rd Test match and 115th innings. Babar has so far scored 4,504 Test runs at an average of 42.49.
His Test career includes nine centuries and 31 half-centuries. However, the Pakistani star is yet to score a Test century since December 2022 and will now be hoping to end that long wait on the West Indies tour.
Babar Azam’s strong figures in test cricket
His record is excellent, scoring 487 runs at an average of 30.43 in nine Test matches against West Indies. Talking about his Test career, this star batsman has scored 1,766 runs in 20 domestic matches at an excellent average of 50.45. In 35 overseas Test matches, he has scored 2,211 runs at an average of 38.12.
Babar has also scored 527 runs at an average of 40.53 in matches played at neutral venues. As captain, Babar has also got great success with the bat. He has so far scored 1,750 runs in 21 Test matches as captain at an excellent average of 50, which includes four centuries and 11 half-centuries.
Talking about the ongoing first Test, Pakistan is currently trailing by 112 runs after West Indies scored 311 runs in the first innings at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Taruba.
