There is another injury scare for the India national cricket team as Abhishek Sharma walked off the field in apparent discomfort during the early stages of the India vs Zimbabwe 1st T20 match in Harare.
Abhishek Sharma injured himself during the third over of the match when Mayank Yadav was bowling for India, and Dion Mayer was on strike for home team Zimbabwe. On a fast, short-length delivery from the fast bowler, the batsman used his muscle power to get a boundary over the cover-point region.
Abhishek Sharma walked out of the field with a worried look on his face.
Sharma was stationed there and was almost on the line of the ball. Since the ball had momentum and the batsman used his muscular strength, the white ball was traveling with some force. Abhishek Sharma extended his hand to catch the ball but he got injured. The physio did not waste time in running onto the field and seeing the injured fielder. With the help of physio, Abhishek went out of the field.
Meanwhile, if Abhishek Sharma managed to catch the ball then it would not be a wicket as the umpire signaled a no-ball.
The Indian cricket team has announced its squad for the T20 series against Zimbabwe with many emerging talents. Abhishek Sharma is among the few batsmen who have retained their place in the combination following back-to-back T20I series against Ireland and England.
