Team India captain Shreyas Iyer has supported young opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi ahead of the upcoming T20 series against Zimbabwe. The team management is confident that Suryavanshi, who had a tough start to his international career, will overcome his initial struggles and make a strong comeback.
The three-match T20 series between India and Zimbabwe will start from July 23 in Harare. This series gives India a chance to return to winning ways. After consecutive white-ball series defeats against Ireland and England, including a 4-0 whitewash in England, Iyer will be looking for his first series win as captain.

Shreyas Iyer said that the team hopes that the young players will review their performance and work on their weaknesses. He said that during the break after the T20 series, Vaibhav Suryavanshi had enough time to improve his game, so the team management did not need to advise him.
“I think all the youngsters have definitely practiced. There was a good gap after the T20 series. So he (Suryavanshi) might have corrected where he went wrong. So personally, I don’t need to give much advice,” Iyer told reporters ahead of the first T20 match.
Meanwhile, speaking on JioHotstar, Sikandar Raza supported Vaibhav SuryavanshiHe said, a 15-year-old player should not be judged after just a few matches.

Shreyas Iyer also urged his teammates to play fearless cricket and not worry about outside opinions. He said that players perform at their best when they are free from the fear of failure.
“I think they should not have the fear of failure. Because whenever such thoughts come in your mind, you just play to survive. When there is no thought of fear of failure, you can bring out the best within you.”
“So the message I have to give is that you should not think too much about what is happening outside, what people will say, or as you said whether this series will go up or down. We have to live in the present moment. The better we play cricket, the more we play with team unity, the more the team will benefit from it. We will think about individuals later.”
Vaibhav Suryavanshi will face a big test against Zimbabwe’s bowling attack
Vaibhav Suryavanshi was included in the India squad after a sensational IPL season. He made his international debut at Old Trafford and became India’s youngest international cricketer, breaking the long-standing record of Sachin Tendulkar.
The left-handed batsman scored 14, 13 and 15 in England and struggled against short-pitched bowling. His performance raised questions about his preparation for international cricket. The team management also faced criticism after leaving out Suryavanshi for the final T20I in Southampton for bringing back Sanju Samson.
Zimbabwe has quality bowlers like Blessing Muzarabani, Brad Evans and Richard Ngarwa. Suryavanshi will soon have to adapt to the circumstances. He will have to spend time at the crease, avoid taking unnecessary risks early and support his natural attacking play.
