Indian national cricket team spinner Kuldeep Yadav has got a new opportunity in England after recently missing out on his chances with the Men in Blue. On Wednesday, 22 July, Yorkshire County Cricket Club announced the signing of Kuldeep for the remainder of the season.
The left-arm wrist spinner was recently a part of the India national cricket team, which suffered a 4-0 defeat in the five-match T20I series and a 2-1 loss to England in the ODI series.
However, Kuldeep did not get a single match on the tour of England or Ireland, where India lost both T20 matches. Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin targeted Gautam Gambhir regarding the treatment of Kuldeep Yadav.
After defeat against India, Kuldeep Yadav got a new home in England
After being repeatedly dropped from the squad by the Indian team management, Kuldeep Yadav has decided to strengthen his selection chances by staying in England and Yorkshire County Cricket Club (YCCC) has provided him with a great opportunity.
In fact, the wrist spinner was signed by Yorkshire County Cricket Club as their overseas player for the remaining matches of the Metro Bank One Day Cup 2026 tournament. The 31-year-old will first play five ODI cup matches for Yorkshire. Following this, Kuldeep will return to Headingley in September to play three of Yorkshire’s final four matches in the County Championship.
Kuldeep has already joined the Yorkshire squad and is all set to make his ODI Cup debut against Glamorgan in Neath on Friday, July 24. Now, he will be hoping that his ODI Cup and County Championship performances help him regain the confidence of the Indian team management.

Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav has expressed his excitement at joining Yorkshire for this English season and feels proud to represent such a historic county club. Earlier, Moeen Ali had criticized Team India for the exclusion of Kuldeep Yadav.
The Indian spinner also said that he is looking forward to giving his best for the Yorkshire team in both the white-ball and red-ball tournaments. Yadav said in a Yorkshire statement: “I am really pleased to join Yorkshire and am grateful for the opportunity.”
He added, “It will be a real privilege to represent a club with such a proud history in Yorkshire. I have always enjoyed the challenge of playing in English conditions, and after speaking to the management, I was really excited to join up with the team, and I look forward to making a positive contribution during my time at Headingley.”

On the other hand, Yorkshire Cricket General Manager Gavin Hamilton has welcomed the club with open arms. He believes that Kuldeep’s experience and left-arm wrist spin will be the X-factor for the team and he will also help their spinners progress.
Gavin Hamilton said, “Kuldeep is an accomplished, international-quality player who will add incredible strength to our lineup for these blocks of fixtures. Given the dry summer we have experienced, we expect spin to play a key role during the closing stages of the season.
