The International Cricket Council (ICC) issued a warning and one demerit point to Indian fast bowler Gurnoor Brar for his aggressive action against England opener Ben Duckett in the first match of the ongoing 3-match ODI series.
An official press release on 16 July stated that Gurnoor Brar’s actions in the first ODI of India vs England in Birmingham were not suitable for a cricket match.

The Council found that the Team India fast bowler had breached Article 2.9 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “throwing the ball at or near a player in an inappropriate and/or dangerous manner during an international match”.
In the 8th over of the first innings of the match, the fast bowler aggressively bowled the ball towards England batsman Ben Duckett.
