Shreyas Iyer will be frustrated and disappointed after not being able to win in his first seven T20Is as India captain, as England won the fifth and final T20I game by 56 runs. The Men in Blue have now lost four consecutive matches in a T20I series for the first time in their history. England has reached the top of the T-20 rankings.

Shreyas Iyer’s team India fell behind in the last game
While chasing the target, Sanju Samson also started in a similar manner, but Abhishek Sharma was out early after scoring only three runs. Samson, who was looking good, was out after scoring 27 runs in 14 balls. After this Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer made a partnership of 55 runs.

“Fielding plays an important role”- Shreyas Iyer said on India’s poor fielding
Shreyas Iyer said that the conditions were challenging and also highlighted India’s poor fielding and credited Jos Buttler and Harry Brook for the way they batted in the match.
Shreyas Iyer said, “There is still a lot to be done. Especially conditions, awareness. I think it’s all about adaptation. Conditions keep changing from the first match. As professionals we need to learn. It is important that we communicate as much as possible about what we could have done better.”
“Fielding plays a vital role in winning matches. When you come abroad, the dimensions of the ground are different. There is a need to adapt. Especially on a track which was a belter, we might have cheated.”
“But we also dropped a few catches. 220-225 could have been chased. Unfortunately we didn’t get that chance. We lost (wickets) in clusters. I thought their bowling performance was spot on.”
Shreyas Iyer concluded, “And he has played a lot of cricket here. Sensational batting by Buttler and then Harry came in, we dropped a few catches and that could have changed the momentum of the game.”
