Pratika has been ruled out of the historic women’s test match to be held at Lord’s.
Ahead of the match, India women’s national cricket team head coach Amol Muzumdar revealed that Pratika Raval had injured her knee during the India A match in Taunton earlier this month. The injury to his knee required stitches.

Amol Muzumdar told the media on Wednesday, “Pratika has been ruled out of the Test match due to the injury she sustained in the India A match. She has injured her knee which required a few stitches. She is out of the Test match and Priya Punia has been included in the squad.”
Pratika Raval twisted her ankle during the Women’s ODI World Cup
This is not the first time that Pratika Rawal has got injured before an important match. Last year, she twisted her knee during the ODI World Cup at home and was ruled out of the remainder of the tournament.
He twisted his ankle while fielding in India’s final league game against Bangladesh. Due to a serious injury, Pratika missed the semi-finals and finals and subsequently missed the WPL season with UP Warriors.
Who will be India’s No. 3 batsman against England at Lord’s?
It has not been decided yet who will be in the final eleven in place of the injured opener. Priya Punia is obviously a quick choice to be named in the starting eleven, but there are some other contenders who can take her place in this historic match.
Harleen Deol and Yastika Bhatia are the other two batsmen who are likely to be in the field to fill the void. Pratika played as the No. 3 batsman in the last Test, so the team management will also have to decide the batting order before naming the replacements for the playing combination.
Pratika Raval performed well as the No. 3 batsman against Australia in March and scored a half-century in the second innings of the match. Team India lost the match by a margin of 295 runs, but Pratika’s innings was one of the most prominent contributions in the game.
The top-order batsman sustained a knee injury while fielding against England B in Taunton last week, reports Cricinfo. After this innings, she set out to chase India A’s target of 300 runs.
The upcoming one-off Test will be the second one-off match in white for India Women this year and the first women’s Test match at Lord’s in London.
