Former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik has shared an important message for young batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi amid talk of his debut in the ongoing five-match T20 series against England.
At just 15 years of age, this boy from Bihar has impressed everyone with his fearless batting in IPL 2026. Karthik feels that Vaibhav has all the talent to become a superstar, but he also believes that the biggest challenge is still ahead for the youngster.

Dinesh Karthik says Vaibhav Suryavanshi is special, but difficult days are coming
Ahead of the second T20 match between India and England on July 4 in Manchester, Dinesh Karthik said that Vaibhav Suryavanshi is the most exciting young cricketer in the world at the moment. He praised the left-handed batsman for how he attacks every bowler without any fear.
The RCB batting coach has also said that the left-handed batsman can play shots all around the ground and keep scoring runs at a fast pace, no matter who is bowling. However, Karthik also revealed that every cricketer goes through tough times and Vaibhav will also face tough times.
Karthik has emphasized that Vaibhav has to learn how to handle pressure and criticism, stay calm and deal with the difficult situations and attention that comes with becoming a famous cricketer. Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav was seen trolling Shreyas Iyer over the defeat in the Ireland T20 series.

Dinesh Karthik said on Sky Sports, “The speed with which he hits around the field, coupled with his ability to attack without being intimidated by whoever his opponent is, is what makes him special. Like everyone in life, I’m sure he will face problems with batting and things that happen off the field. He has to learn to deal with it better.”
Dinesh Karthik predicts big future for Vaibhav Suryavanshi, issues a big warning
Karthik believes that Vaibhav Suryavanshi has everything it takes to become one of the best T20 batsmen in the world. He even feels that the teenage batting sensation has the potential to break many T20 batting records in the future if he keeps working hard and improving.
However, the former Indian wicketkeeper believes that dealing with external noise will be as important as batting well. As Vaibhav’s popularity grows, the expectations from him will also get bigger and Kartik feels that learning to manage that pressure in a healthy way will be the “biggest challenge” of his career.
Karthik had this to say, “At the moment, most things are rosy. The sky’s the limit, and he can be an exceptional T20 batsman. There’s no reason why he can’t break any of the records that are out there. My one piece of advice would be to learn to deal with a lot of noise off the field in a very healthy way because that will be his biggest challenge.”
Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s incredible form makes delay in India debut surprising
The youngster was included in the India T20I squad for the first time after a dream IPL 2026 season with Rajasthan Royals. He was selected for the tour of Ireland and England, but is still awaiting his India debut after missing both the T20s against Ireland and the opening match against England.
Vaibhav finished the IPL 2026 season as the leading run-scorer in the tournament with 776 runs at an incredible strike rate of 237.30. He performed well even under immense pressure.
In the IPL 2026 playoffs, Vaibhav played two innings of 90+ against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans, and he also played a record-breaking 90+ innings for India A in the final of the one-day tri-series against Sri Lanka A.
