Amidst the talk of privatization of the Big Bash League (BBL), Cricket Australia (CA) revealed the complete details of its upcoming season for the 12th season of the Women’s Big Bash League.th (WBBL 12) edition, which begins in Melbourne on Thursday, October 29, with the grand finale taking place on Saturday, December 5.

In search of added excitement and greater viewership, the cricket board has added an additional number of home matches to this year’s schedule instead of major matches taking place at neutral venues.
Additional home matches for three franchises in WBBL 12
On 2 July, CA issued an official release on its official website, describing its latest strategic reforms. The upcoming season of the WBBL will feature 43 fixtures, which will be played over a period of 38 days.

As informed by the cricket board via its official release, Melbourne’s two clubs, the Stars and the Renegades, along with Sydney Thunder, have been awarded an extra game in their home city this season, taking the total to just four neutral matches for the entire tournament – less than seven in the WBBL|11.
