“I think clarity is important for him and I’m sure he would have given it to him. Maybe they are just not giving us clarity. His experience as a leader is invaluable, not only on the field but in the dressing room, to keep the atmosphere good and that is very important going into a big tournament. The young left-hander has impressed whenever he has got a chance, but with Rohit Shubman Gill Having been firmly established as India’s preferred opening pair, regular opportunities have been limited. Rather than seeing it as a choice between the two, Rayudu believes both players should feature in India’s long-term plans.
“For me, both have a place if given the option. Rohit should definitely be in the World Cup plans. You need that experience to face the tough challenges that come in the World Cup. As far as Jaiswal is concerned, I think he deserves his opportunity and there is no doubt about that. He will get his due but he should be ready to contribute in the World Cup and be a part of the team going forward.” He added.
