Ranchi SSP Rakesh Ranjan said that only one gate was open for public entry, due to which the crowd increased. He confirmed that four to five people were injured and received medical treatment. Following the incident, officials began investigation and deployed additional police personnel.

Ranchi SSP Rakesh Ranjan said, “Only one gate was open for public entry, due to which the crowd suddenly increased. Due to the slow pace of security checking, public pressure outside increased and the crowd went out of control for some time. We moved forward and controlled the situation. Some people suffered injuries and are undergoing treatment. To my knowledge, four or five people have been injured. The situation is now calm and under control.”

“As soon as the news of some people getting injured during the final T20 match of the Jharkhand Premier League (JPL) at the JSCA Stadium came in, I immediately activated the health department. Necessary instructions have been issued to the civil surgeon and concerned officials. Ambulances have reached the spot, and prompt medical aid is being provided to all the injured.”

Hospitals have also been alerted – Irfan Ansari gives health update

Irfan Ansari said that hospitals across Ranchi have been alerted to deal with any medical emergency arising from the incident. He said the health department is on high alert and is closely monitoring the situation.

“Hospitals have also been alerted for better treatment of the injured. I myself am constantly monitoring the situation and the health department is engaged in relief and treatment efforts with full readiness. There is no need to panic, arrangements for proper treatment of all the injured are being ensured.”

Organizing committee member Kamal later confirmed that the situation returned to normal after police intervention. Security personnel controlled the crowd, restored order at the entry gates and allowed the Jharkhand T20 League final to proceed as scheduled.
